Proper Golf Swing

A consistent golf swing and a consistent golf game can only be built on proper alignment. For you to play better golf, you have to improve your golf swing. Although appearing simple, a proper mechanical golf swing is one of the most difficult moves to master in sports. You need to set up all elements of the swing, from how you hold the club to where you place the golf ball. The key to hitting a golf ball is using the proper golf swing technique. The next important aspect of your golf swing to analyze is your grip.

Your shoulders should turn about 90 degrees during the backswing. During the backswing, concentrate on turning your back hip away from the ball. The target-side hip and shoulder should be slightly higher than the back hip and shoulder. At the top of your backswing, your lead shoulder should be approximately where your rear shoulder was at address, as a result of proper hip and shoulder turns. Once let the left shoulder drop and before you realize it the head goes with it, the left side collapses and the right hip rises too high. There are some body-joint positions at the top of the backswing which make it easy for your body to deliver the club correctly at impact.

The key to getting to a good set swing position is to make sure that your shoulders and chest are turning the whole time. You can not take advantage of a great golf swing with a poor setup position. When the swing goes off-track at the start, one of two types of golfer emerges. Now with your imaginary club, take your half swing back and then take the half swing forward. One of the bad things about being a beginner is that learning how to swing a golf club correctly can be difficult at first and lead to frustration. A critical component of positive proper golf swing mechanics is the setup.

The shaft of the club and the left arm should form a straight line at impact. Midway through your backswing, the club shaft should be parallel to the ground while the club head points vertically. Your left arm can be bent slightly as you bring the club back to the point where the left shoulder approaches the right armpit. At the height of the backswing, your elbow should be at a 90-degree angle, with your left arm as straight as possible. By the time your left arm is parallel to the ground, your wrists should form a 90 degree angle. As your body is moving one way, you are forcing the club to release even faster at the bottom.
